It was long before dawn when we met by the Grand Canal in Venice and started the surreal walk down the empty alleys still lit by the street lights. With nobody around, just distant sounds of strangers walking, water splashing in the canals, seagulls flying over heads watching us, there we were searching for the early morning incredibles, observing wonders waking up.
