A postcard from Iceland
Sunrise on the Icelandic shore is a monochrome marvel. Artic cold ocean meets black volcanic basalt rocks, spraying joy, freezing moments of bliss. Against the dramatic backdrop, they played, laughed and walked down the black sand beach of Reynisfjara. Vanessa and Ollie, mother and son, sending a postcard from Iceland, the land of fire and ice. Icelandic early mornings aren’t easy, especially in October. Especially at the seashore on a windy day. Low temperatures and arctic humidity blowing into our faces. Lucky we were, the sky was clear, the Sun shining through the haze of splashed waves of North Atlantic Ocean.
Long before Vanessa, Ollie and I met in Iceland, our paths had crossed in Venice where I am based and always ready to share my passion with you. Luckily, also Jay and Frankie could join our first, but not the last!, shoot.

After our sessions in Venice and Iceland, we met again. This time it was Rome. And again, we did photos. Also this time, they turned out beautifully different. They always do and always will as Ollie and Frankie grow older. Our early Roman morning has been published here.
No matter whether this is Iceland, Venice, Rome or any other place that we are going to meet, I will always encourage you to wake up early. As early as possible, so that you can see what you can not see when the Sun rises high and tourists arrive. It is a different, deep experience. To be there way up north, at the Artic Circle and be lucky enough to marvel at the volcanic wonders of Iceland.
Since travelling to Iceland requires preparation and careful planning, I will discuss with you all the necessary details upfront, the weather conditions, proper outfits and timing. I’m sure that together we will build the best arctic scenario for our session. We will also have to leave some room for any last minute adjustments needed in case weather does not allow us to shoot. In the meantime, please check this article to learn more about what you need to know before travelling to Iceland.
