Under the alpine sky
Long before dawn in the Dolomites. Sarah and Gilbert stood there listening to the alpine birds singing, cows playing their bells, watching the Sun bringing the new day. They could hardly believe their eyes. ‘Is this even real?’ she asked. ‘Probably not. But I don’t care, do you? Let’s just stay here and watch.’ – he whispered. Sarah and Gilbert came from California to Italy to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary. We met for a photoshoot in Venice and after a few days also in the Dolomites. We could not ask for more that magical morning. The sky was clear. The Sun was beautifully filtered with the morning mist that slowly descended into the valleys below. The entire plateau around Tre Cime di Lavaredo was all to ourselves. There was nobody around. Nobody, just cows, birds and us. It all felt as if we were the only ones left in the planet.

We started that early morning in the National Park of Tre Cime di Lavaredo and after watching the sunrise we went on to another fabulous location of Lago di Braies.
